Kurt Brandt

Practice Experience:
Dr. Brandt has been with Knoxville Pediatric Associates since 1996.
He has had a varied and extensive Pediatric experience. After Medical school, residency, and a year of private practice, he and his wife worked in Sudan, Africa doing refugee relief work. He then practiced with the Indian Health Service in New Mexico for three years. He moved to Knoxville and worked in East Tennessee Children's Hospital's emergency room.
Education:
Dr. Brandt earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences in 1980 from the University of Virginia, and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1984. He completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia Children’s Medical Center.

Dr. Brandt is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Scott Brice

Practice Experience:
Dr. Brice joined Knoxville Pediatric Associates in 2006. Prior to joining KPA, he was a primary care pediatrician at The Children's Center in Greenwood, SC, for five years.
Education:
Dr. Brice earned his bachelor's degree from Wofford College, Spartanburg, SC, in 1993. He attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Columbia, SC, and earned his medical degree in 1998. He completed both his internship and residency at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

Dr. Brice is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is licensed by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Karen Freeman

Ashley Gilmer

Kathy Holloway

Practice Experience:
Dr. Holloway has been with KPA since 2001. She practiced in the Emergency Department of Children's Hospital Medical Center, Akron, Ohio. She also practiced at East Tennessee Children's Hospital Emergency Department for three years.
Education:
Dr. Holloway earned her undergraduate degree at Ursinus College, Collegeville, PA. She majored in biology and minored in human behavioral development. In 1992, she earned her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. She completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Ohio.

Dr. Holloway is licensed in Tennessee and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Holloway is married to Dr. Brian Holloway of Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, and they have two children. Dr. Holloway enjoys reading, tennis, crafts, walking and cooking.
Kimberly Kim

Prior to joining KPA, she practiced as a pediatric hospitalist with the Children's Pediatric Group at East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

Dr. Kim earned her BS at Emory University and earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She completed her residency at Kosair Children’s Hospital, University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Ronald Rimer

Dr. Rimer started with KPA in 1975 and his patients and staff are happy to say that he is still here!

Dr. Rimer earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 1968 and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1972. He completed his internship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and his residency at LeBonheur Children's Hospital and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Rimer is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (retired).

Personal:
Dr. Rimer is married to Mary, a retired psychologist. They have two children, and four grandchildren with whom they spend as much time as possible. His other interests include church, fishing, hiking, travel, reading, and softball and Lady Vols basketball. He is not so sure any more about UT football! A lifelong dream has been to travel to the moon, but not until the price comes down.

Barbara Summers

Dr. Summers has been with Knoxville Pediatric Associates since 2002. She was Chief Resident at LeBonheur Children's Hospital 2001-2002. She worked at Pediatrics East, Inc., Memphis Children's Clinic, and the Regional Medical Center Neonatal ICU and at Pediatric Emergency Specialists in Memphis, TN.

Andrea Meadows

Before joining KPA, Dr. Meadows worked at the Lexington Clinic from 2007-2010 and at LaFollette Pediatric Clinic from 2010-2016.

Dr. Meadows earned her BS and MD degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She completed her residency at Kentucky Children's Hospital, University of Kentucky School of Medicine.

Ben began his association with KPA when he was an R.N. from 2000-2002, and is currently one of two nurse practitioners at the Clinch/Cross Park locations.

He earned his BS in Biology at Maryville College in 1997. He continued at East Tennessee State University where he earned his nursing degree in 1999. Ben earned his Master's in Advanced Practice with a focus on Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2001.
